Tonight, I found myself helping with a ministry which is clearly not my calling: the church nursery on Wednesday night.
But I'm already getting sidetracked. The purpose of this post is simply to share an observation I made during my stay in the nursery.
During a break from tending to my own child, a newly-walking baby boy brought me a ball to play with. As we began to play ball, another noobie to walking joined us. I rolled the ball across the floor and there went Jacob chasing after it...with Isaac following him (they are unrelated).
The other boys in the nursery: Eli (Elijah) and Micah. Among the young ladies we had a Grace (actually three if you count middle names), a Selah, various others, and ours, a Libby. Where did we go wrong? Perhaps our transgression can be redeemed by the fact that our Libby is also a Libby Grace.
The church should offer a cash prize for the church family who names there child Habakkuk. Or Nahum. Or Obadiah
