No, it's not the Gettysburg Address, or the "I have a dream" speech, or the valedictory she will give someday, but historic nevertheless. On February 2, 2009, Libby (our daughter) said "Dada," and she hasn't stopped saying it since.
She mastered "mama" some time back, so I can't claim "dada" as her first word, quite frankly, I'm not altogether sure she knows what she's saying when she says, "mamamamama" or "dadadadada," but we'll take it. She now has an official vocabulary of five words, "mama," "dada," "yaya," "lala," and "wawa."
I'm almost positive I heard her say "baba" this morning, but I'll reserve final judgment until her "mamamamama" confirms it.
