I am not a country music fan. Nevertheless, my wife (who was very nearly a country music star herself) is, and she is watching the Country Music Awards (CMAs).

My issue is not with the CMAs per se, or awards generally, but with the award shows in particular. And not just this award show either.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems that there is hardly any time at all devoted to the actual awards. In any given three-hour-long award show there are only about 15 minutes of actual awards.

How about 30-minute awards shows with coverage of the concerts and after parties on E! or some other such network?

And David Copperfield in a cowboy hat is just funny!
